Privacy Policy
AlrightTech ("we", "us", or "our") operates the QR & Barcode Scanner mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, how it is used, and the choices you have.
We designed this App to keep scanning private. Core features work without creating an account.
1. Information We Collect
Information stored on your device
- Scan history (decoded content, code type, and timestamp)
- Generated QR code history you create in the App
- Theme preference (light, dark, or system)
This data stays on your device. We do not operate a user account system for this App and we do not upload or sync your scan history to our servers.
Information we do not collect
- No account registration or login
- No advertising identifiers for ad targeting
- No in-app analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in this build
- No payment or billing information
2. How the App Uses Information
- Decode QR codes and barcodes on your device
- Show scan results and let you copy, open, or save content
- Keep a local history you can search, delete, or clear
- Generate QR codes from text, URLs, or Wi-Fi details
- Remember your appearance settings
3. Device Permissions
The App may request the following permissions only when needed:
- Camera — to scan codes with your device camera
- Photos / storage — when you pick an image to scan or save a generated QR code
- Contacts — only when you choose to save a contact card (vCard) from a scan
You can manage permissions in your device settings at any time.
4. Network Use and Third-Party Services
Most scanning works offline. In some cases, the App may connect to the internet for optional features:
- Link safety checking — when enabled, the specific URL you are about to open may be sent to Google Safe Browsing to check for known threats. We do not send your identity, full browsing history, or other scanned content with that request.
- Product information — when you request details for a product barcode, that barcode number may be sent to Open Food Facts. No scan history or account identity is included.
- Opening links — if you tap Open on a URL, your device browser or the relevant app handles that destination.
These third-party services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Scan and generated-code history remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
You can delete all local history at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete local data.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Security
Because your scan data is stored locally on your device, its security also depends on your device protections (screen lock, OS updates, and physical access). We recommend keeping your device secure and up to date.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are posted. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
